Who is the strangest team you have seen win the league? I remember on Championship Manger random teams always won but now I just see the same old teams win it... Also has anyone seen a low league team come right through the Divisions? I may be the only one sad enough to check all league tables every few months but I was just curious.

DON'T FORGET TO REPEAT ALL THESE STEPS FOR TESTING TEAM "A" AND TESTING TEAM "B"
SOME TEST RESULTS:
As I already said on my PC it takes about 35 minutes to test for 1 season.
There are Testing Team A and Testing Team B into the Testing League; Testing Team B is just a copy of Testing Team A; I added 2 identical teams into the Testing League order to test for more matches per one test so you should sum up their points and their goals difference after each test.
Here are test results of my Strikerless V13 tactic: you will notice that my Strikerless V13 tactic showed better result when it was tested in Underdog Save than when it was tested in Favorite Save even that in both saves the Testing Teams are identical and the only difference between them is their Reputation. I can say that all tactics behave that way, they show better result in Underdog Save than in Favorite Save and here’s why: in Underdog Save AI teams consider the Testing Teams as underdogs so they use Attacking approaches against them and in Favorite Save AI teams consider the Testing Team as favorites so they use Counter/Defensive approaches against them and as you can see it’s much harder to play when AI uses Counter/Defensive approaches against you.
It explains why many people complain that in the real game they had amazing results with a weak team in the previous season and the current season they are getting worse with the same team, it’s because after the success in the previous season the reputation of their teams has increased and more AI teams started to use Counter/Defensive approaches against their teams and the test result shows that it’s hared to play when AI uses Counter/Defensive approaches against you.

Plug and play tactics.
Hi, I was wondering if anyone had any tips to good plug and play tactics. What I mean is basically just download a tactic without the need of specific training set-ups and so on.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Jesaustralia's favourite fm17 tactic (4312 Narrow)
First of all I've been aware of this tactic for a while now - its foundation was established by someone who call themselves the_reckonist and gave the tactic the name Gamebreaker - you can find the original version here
An exellent tactic that hasn't received enough credit compared to other tactics on the market - SHAME!!!
An exellent tactic that hasn't received enough credit compared to other tactics on the market - SHAME!!!
However when that is said - the tactic released above is inspired by that tactic but improved to a version that I find magical - magic in defence - magic in attack - but as it often happen you will need to understand how things work - Knowing how you get to see that magic I'm talking about.
With this tactic I have build a team for Ajax - Brondby - FC Helsingor (Elsinore) - Wolves (Using Gamebreaker) - Real Madrid for 10 games or so (Reversed version) - With Ajax - Brondby I won anything that was possible pretty quick in the save - we were able to sign Asensio in season 2 and in the same season they were in the CH League quarter finals before exiting - and FC Helsingor which is another Danish team that starts in the 2nd tier of the danish competitions I managed to build to a CH League quarter final team pretty quickly as well.
So what does all this success mean? - Cheat tactic? NO!! - it means I bought all the right kind of players that could make it happen and its honestly not entirely obvious what you'll need to do - so go on reading....
I'm not stating that this tactic is an underdog tactic - but you can lower the requirements in a lower league and succeed for sure - FC Helsingor is the perfect example of that starting a carreer their with amateur players - The year later they were professional :D
Lets get in to the flesh of things...
Players & Individual Training:
Attacking Fullback - A:
This position/role creates lots of assists and needs to be lightning quick and have attacking attributes - often my choice of player would be someone like Iorfa though he is a weirdo :D damn tall and scary player - in reality it would be good to have someone like Nelson Semedo becourse this position get scoring chances themselves and a 10+ finishing attribute wouldn't hurt for sure. Crosses are not as important though its a wide player.
Training - Complete Wingback Schedule + Quickness
Supporting Fullback - S:
Well you'll need someone like Riedewald a ball playing defender that interacts alot in the build up play - again I do not think that the cross attribute is of imperitive importance - passing attributes and technical attributes I value much more.
Training - Ball Playing Defender Schedule or Complete Wingback + Quickness
Central Defence - D:
I prefer these to be average quick +13/13 - the more ball playing these are the better, but not absolutely crucial. De Ligt from Ajax is a massive talent of the future in this department, but theirs plenty of good defenders out their - both cheap and expensive. One of my Favs are definitely Michael Keane.
Training - Ball playing defender + Quickness
Ball winning midfield - S:
Now its getting more exciting...- In the original gamebreaker tactic theirs two of these, but I've changed that to one only - what matters though is that you get an allround type of player more than you get a strong player - this player doesn't need to be a monster physically - its much more beneficial if you have a player that can do things going forward as well - Havertz is a great player in this position - he has 10 in tackling, but how I want you to see this is - get a complete midfielder like Koke - Fernandes (Botafogo) - other player like Husbauer insane longshot - I find longshots to be quite useful - I always get BWM's or other types of midfielders going forward to have atleast 13+ longshot. High workrate - teamwork - decisions - Technique and more technique.
Training - Roaming Playmaker or Deep laying Playmaker + Longshot
Deep Playmaker - D:
This position is the player I would say is the worst performing overall - so you would easily be able to use a cheap option here - an older AP in this position will often do well. Defending attributes are not as important as ball playing attributes - technical attributes - this player needs to be a composed visionary that works well within a team (teamwork) - Basically you need players with DLP attributes
Training - Deep Laying Playmaker Schedule
Central Midfield - A:
This is one of the most exciting roles in fm17 when getting the right player - I'm seeing this position as a 4th striker to be honest - yes exciting isn't it? :D - So let me explain...This position needs to be a quick dribbler who has lots of visions offball movement skills and obviously a technical genius with flair - then he needs to be able to finish like a striker (James Rodriguez) (Renato Sanches) (Alena) (Asensio) and many more I bet.
Training - Roaming Playmaker Schedule + Finish
Advanced Playmaker - A:
My Favourite Role in both modern and past football - this however is like a 3rd striker - a creative striker - this position will score lots of goals and assist alot - Asensio is definitely gods son in this position - Oliver isn't :( - you will want someone who can both finish and shoot from a distance - you will want vision and technical attributes, but you will also want this player to be intelligent
(decisions - flair - composure - anticipation) & fairly quick
Training - Adavanced Playmaker + Finishing
Complete Forward - A:
Depending on who you got ofcourse - this player can score alot of goals - 60+ I've seen 87 - what I find important is CFA to be creative - quick - technical - I don't care if these are strong but its always nice if they are - Vietto can do well here - Dybala/Suarez/ - Regents. In case you can't find one or don't have one becourse of lack of talent - its definitely ok to change this role to an advanced forward - I do that in my own saves if I feel that the players are not as good as a CF. One more thing I like in strikers that can finish is the PPM shoot with power if they have technique as well. Basically I just like quick creative strikers who got flair - AP schedule will provide that in that case its + finishing
Training - F9 or Advanced playmaker Schedule + quickness
Advanced Forward - A:
Nothing extraordinary about the AF - but I can tell you its a position that are capable of scoring lots of goals - I have seen a very young Buitink
(becomes world class) scored above 60 goals in the 2nd season tutored the first year by Didier Drogba - became a perfectionist in personality - you are probably aware that their aren't many of those that can often be an indicator of special talent - not always but in some cases for sure. I obviously treat the CF and the AF the same - so a quick technical finisher with the ppm shoot with power. Another good ppm for a striker is - Get in to opposition area - both ppms are golden.
Training - F9 + quickness or AP + finishing
Team Training:
Preseason - At the tactic screen - Load tactic in to all 3 slots
Training screen - Team Cohesion - Intensity=High - 50% Scheduling -
Match Preparation=Tactics
Do this till the 1st of october, but lower the intensity when you start getting more than 1 match a week.
In-Season - Team cohesion - Intensity=Average - 50% Scheduling - Rest after match ticked - Match preparation=Defensive Positioning
Resting - I recommend to rest your 1st - 11 - straight after each match between 2 and 3 days if their is more than 1 match in a week.
Their is no OI's
Team Talks - I prefer to do them myself - I normally choose the calm option and then the 2nd choice - then individually I say have faith or you got what it takes - prematch
At HT depending on the score and on the body language of my players - if they are confident and we lead comfortably then I do nothing - if its a narrow lead - by 2+ goals or less I calmly tell the players that its not good enough - if they are behind I aggresively tell them that they are morons :D
At FT I tell them calmly it was a good win or it wasn't good enough
So what's actually going on these days with me? (for you who's interested) - well I'm doing exersize due to my diabetes and then I'm doing some voice over jobs in short animation films - apart from that I'm chilling - playing different games - dreaming of the lake of lugano (how I want to live their one day :D Guys if I come across as someone angry - you are very wrong - I'm a very fair person and if their is something I dislike - I tell everyone where they can put their finger and that's how it should be done - we live - we die - we are equals nomatter who we are or where we come from or what we believe in or how much money we have - noone is above the other - Respect
Enjoy Guys :)

How is it best to raise Match sharpness?
I am managing in the Vandarama North and have played 8 friendlies yet match sharpness
is still low.
Obviously training dont take place everyday as were part time so, how else can I raise this?

Help me design my favorite formation scheme
Hi guys,
I'm in the midst of preparing my last save for the summer in FM 2017 and I would like to get your guys help on a special formation I always wanted my team to play in.
So let's start with the basics, my tactical outline:
Formation (2x3x2x2x1 and 4x3x3)
Home (Mentality - attacking / Team shape - flexible)
Name: lineup.png
Views: 3
Size: 118.2 KB
ID: 1116726]()
Name: lineup (1).png
Views: 2
Size: 120.6 KB
ID: 1116728]()
Away (Mentality - control / Team shape - structured)
Team instructions (let's stick with the home version for now):
- Tempo - High (quick? - don't really remember the term)
- Width - Large
- Defensive Line - Normal
- Closing down - Much more
- Play out of defense
- Passing into space
- Shorter passing
- Low crosses
- Roam from positions
What do I envision with the combinations I've made:
I want an attacking team that uses both flanks avidly;
I want the anchor man to initiate the build up by going down and forming the 3rd - temporary - central defender;
I want the AP to dictate the tempo and the B2B to be the man who cover him going forward.
Simply put, it's a variation of a 4x3x3 at home and the most usual 4x3x3 away / for more difficult games, the latter in which I don't overexpose the full backs.
It's my predilect tactical disposition and I would like your guys help with the following questions:
- Changes in the roles (it might be uncompensated, I never quite get how to create balance)
- Changes in the PIS, TIs, for the sake of making it better.
- Opposite instructions: is there any specific ones I should have by default to tackle problems with the way I setup my play or that should be done on a game-by-game basis?
- What sort of PPMs should I rely on.
PS: I will be playing with Benfica, top contender to the title in the Portuguese League and with enough of a squad to at least make it to last 16 teams in Europe.

PS: I will be playing with Benfica, top contender to the title in the Portuguese League and with enough of a squad to at least make it to last 16 teams in Europe.

The Rise of the Clarets: an unoriginal SAF challenge

The Sir Alex Ferguson challenge

Won | Drawn | Lost | Total | |
Games | 894 (59.5%) | 337 (22.5%) | 267 (18%) | 1498 |
Scored | Conceded | Goal difference | |
Goals | 2,762 (1.84/game) | 1,359 (0.90/game) | +1,403 |
Major trophies won:

So, I've been off this website for some time now. To be completely honest with you, I just kind of lost interest in writing about my FM saves, I just didn't find them entertaining or fun enough and it just gave me no motivation to write posts about matches and random information from the save. The Sir Alex Ferguson challenge is in no way, shape, or form an original challenge and has been way overdone for sure, but in this year's FM I found it to be the most fun for me. About maybe a month ago, I started a personal save wanting to do a Sir Alex Ferguson challenge. I got Swansea and have been playing the save ever since. I'm in 2024 and have won the last 4 Premier Leagues and the last 4 Champions Leagues and have players like Ousmane Dembele, Dele Alli and Jonathan Tah in my squad. I became so attached to the team that it's now made it impossible for me to move on to another side within that save. This made me come to the decision that I wanted to start writing on here again and seeing as I had so much fun doing a SAF challenge in the last month, why not do another one but write about it? At the end of the day, I am writing on here to have fun and not necessarily to write the most original stories ever! Credit for the whole SAF challenge goes of course to the man who came up with it in the first place in I think 2013, "The Hudd".
For anyone who doesn't know them, the rules are as follows:
Steps | Reason |
1. Simulate until the 6th of November | Sir Alex Ferguson joined Manchester United on the 6th of November 1986 |
2. Take over the 2nd bottom team in the Premier League | When Sir Alex took over in 1986, Manchester United were 19th |
3. Stay at the club | Ferguson never left United until his retirement in 2013 |
4. Bring youth players through the club's academy | Emulate the Class of 92' (Beckham, Giggs, Butt, Neville, Scholes) |
Objective | Achieve within: |
Domestic cup | 4 seasons |
Premier League | 7 seasons |
Domestic cup and Premier League double | 8 seasons |
Domestic cup, Premier League and Champions League treble | 13 seasons |
So there we go! We'll be managing Burnley for this SAF challenge. They have a pretty decent squad with some great players like Andre Gray and Michael Keane so I'm really excited to get started! The title of the thread would have probably given it away but anyways I tried to make it as dramatic as I could... Sorry for the long post, didn't want to have a whole post about the challenge itself and then a reveal, preferred to have both in one post to really kickstart the challenge in the next one.
Next post will be the squad report as well the fixture list for the next 5 games or so!

José Mourinho savours Manchester United glory but pragmatism has limits| Jonathan Wil
Victory over Ajax showed again Mourinho’s knack for thwarting gifted opponents but fans of a club of United’s means are entitled to pine for more poetryAs Manchester United’s players celebrated with the Europa League trophy, José Mourinho brandished a red flag. He walked in front of his squad and tried to plant it into the pitch. The pole, though, was too flimsy and bent, leaving Mourinho to prop the flag awkwardly against a hoarding reading “Stockholm Final 2017”. As a metaphor for his first season at United it could hardy have been bettered: grand gestures thwarted but the job eventually, just about, done.
It was a night replete with symbolism. Deep into injury-time at the Friends Arena on Wednesday night, the Ajax winger Amin Younes picked up the ball on the left. He glanced up and had just made as though to jink inside when he was clattered by the horizontal form of Wayne Rooney making an effective if clunking challenge that put the ball out for a throw-in. That it could be his last ever touch in a United shirt felt hugely appropriate; he has throughout most of his career had a pleasing commitment to the necessary but unglamorous work.

FM Experiment Series - The G.O.A.T of the Premier League
What if Suarez had stayed at Liverpool?
What if Bale had stayed at Spurs?
What if the top 6 teams had kept their strongest squads?
Now if you're like me and have read countless web articles called something like 'Spurs team if they hadn't sold their players' followed by an image like this...
Naturally it gets you thinking about your own team and what sort of team could be put out each week.
For this experiment I have attempted to achieve just that. For each of the 'Top 6' teams in the Premier League I have either reversed some previous transfers or improved the weaker areas of their teams through returning former players to their peak.

The following rules were used:
- Only people who are on the original FM database were edited i.e. Patrick Vieira is not longer a player so was changed back to a player and place in the Arsenal squad
- Any player who was put into one of the squads had their age reduced so avoid 45 year old players
- When changing a staff member to a player it automatically gives them no stats. I used my best judgement to give the players the stats of when they were at their peak for their respective clubs
In some cases it was unnecessary to reinstate certain players as the positions were already adequately covered i.e De Gea removes the need for Schmeichel
Teaser: Chelsea have a midfield of Kante and Makelele ;)
First part is a 5 minute video and shows the squads in more detail

Juventus Tactic Emulation
Hello managers I'm trying to emulate the tactic I faced when playing against Juventus.
Any advice is welcome, feel free to watch the game as many times as you want.
What I really liked was their counter attack -> crossing -> Goal.

Ajax
Hey, I'm in the first season with Ajax, currently 4th in the table after 17. Obviously not good enough, lost at home to Vitesse, NEC etc. I don't understand why I'm performing so poorly as with the same tactics I've beaten both PSG and Man City and qualified for champions league knockout stages...
All my players have good or better morale, they are all in good condition and are fit, but I'm still losing to teams a team like Ajax shouldn't lose to

EDITOR - PLEASE HELP - Canadian League doesn't classify to Champions Cup
Hi guys.
Actually my problem comes since from previous versions of FM. I created 3 divisions for an hypothetical canadian League, even with logos, and everything else, the way I wanted. However, when I do it, the canadian teams don't qualify for continental cup and I've got one more problem: the canadian cup is happening only once each two years instead of yearly. I spent many days to make this league and teams and I would really appreciate if someone could help to fix this issue on Editor.
Thank you so much.

The Leeds United Thread

Founded 1919
Ground Elland Road, Leeds
Capacity 37,890[1]
Leeds United Football Club is a professional association football club in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. The club was formed in 1919 following the disbanding of Leeds City F.C. by the Football League and took over their Elland Road stadium.
They play in the Championship, the second tier of the English football league system. Leeds United have won three First Division league titles, one FA Cup and one League Cup. The club has also won two Inter-Cities Fairs Cups. The majority of the honours were won under the management of Don Revie in the 1960s and 1970s. Leeds lost the 1975 European Cup Final against Bayern Munich and reached the semi-finals of the tournament's successor, the Champions League, in 2001.
Leeds play in all-white kits, leading to their nickname being 'the whites'. The club's badge features the White Rose of York together with the monogram "LUFC". The club's anthem is "Marching On Together".

In game manager achivments
Is there a way to show all your achievements in one screen? If there are a lot.
I know about in my profile but I have to scroll the same in hall of fame.
I would like to take screens of them in one picture.
Hall of fame would be good but it is in down half of screen. If I could somehow resize that window I think all would fit.
