And now,inspired by the music,i present to you my favorite formation this year:
"Boom Boom 4-2-3-1!"
Now,the reason why this is my favorite tactic is because i've played some saves this year,tested some tactics from this forum,and this tactic always fitted better the teams i was managing.
For example,in my Atlético-MG save:

But what you must know about this is that the tactic wasn't always the same.I've changed it through the seasons to fit better my players.For example,for two seasons the AMC role was Trequartista,'cause Ronaldinho was old and couldn't run a lot.This is just an example,there where a lot of changes.
Continuing...the other save i played was a Liverpool one,where i used Raikan's Dortmund Emulation through the seasons,but never accomplished to win the premier league(although i won 1 champions).I always drawed a lot,and i wasn't really happy with my attack.
So then,i used this old tactic,and guess what? Won Capital One Cup,Premier League and Champions!

Note:I'M NOT TRYING TO SAY THAT MY TACTIC IS BETTER THAN RAIKAN'S,I'M JUST SAYING WHAT HAPPENED TO MAKE A POINT HERE.
So,after playing with Raikan's and switching to my old one,i realised two very different uses of the wingers and width.And that made me want to learn more about.And i learned.
The thing is,if you have a wide team,your wingers will work better if cutting inside.If you have a narrow team,your wingers will work better if moving into channels(often they will run to the sidelines,or enter in the space between the rival FB and DC).
And simple as that,you can set up whatever kind of tactic you want,to counter any other.The 4-2-3-1 set-up also have an important role here,'cause with this formation you can change to basically any other one that suits up your team better in the match momentum.
And that's the point of the tactic.It's made to suit any match momentum.
And that's where i played my third save: Dortmund.

Now,getting to the tactics.
The tactic that i mostly use is the with IF and very wide and quick(att mentality,it's uploaded).Now this tactic will score a lot,specially because the attacking players moving around confuses the defense and often they receive the ball in front of goal in position to score.If this movement is getting stucked,the fb's will get foward and open space,often crossing or passing to goal opportunities.Also,often you'll have high possession numbers.
My other favorite configure is with Wingers and very narrow,slightly slower(counter mentality).This is for tough away games,or in match situations where the adversary is operating more offensivly(you're ahead in score,for example).Another tweak that helps a lot here is dropping both wingers to the mid-line(use this when playing against a team that uses the wingers or fullbacks a lot) or you can also drop the AMC to MC slot,which will make he help the DMC's tackling and covering them(this is very useful agains't teams the uses AMC slots).
I also use control sometimes,dropping the AMC and/or the wingers.Or sometimes i use a narrow formation,but attacking,accordingly to the opposition defense set up.
Anyway,as you can see,it's not necessary to tweak a lot.You need to tweak right!
But where you can and you can't tweak?
This is a tweak i made to suit Ghana.
Even with such bad players in defense(and no quality subs) i managed to stay unbeaten through the year(lost semifinals in penaltys though :'()
Important tips about the tactic:
-Wherever you decide to put the AMC(either MC or DMC),he'll always pass a lot('cause he's in the center of the pitch),so he always must have good creative and passing skills.This only changes if you put him on ST slot.If you do this,you use him as CF(STCR slot).The AF must be at STCL slot.- Don't change the DM's configure.But,always have 2 Defensive DMs and two Creative(DLP) DMs.Their skills and PPMs should do the difference when you play(generally,play 1 creative and one defensive,but you can use 2 defensive or two creative depending on the situation).- It you don't have really fast(17+) wingers,they must be switched footed for the IF configure to work well.If they're really fast,it doesn't really matter.
- The DMs and FBs are set to tackling hard.If you don't have players with good tackling and aggression in these positions,or they're dirty,change it back to normal.
- 10 man situation: take out the AMC.
- Never have a player with "Stay Back at all times" PPM.
- Micro management is very important!!! try to always keep your players morale up.
About the players attributes:
- First Touch is an important attribute to any position in this tactic.
- Players that can play in several positions are very useful.
- Look for the best defenders.Mental attributes here are crucial(take a look at Mertesacker,his mental attributes are perfect)
- Like i said earlier,always have two kind of DMs(a creative and a ball-winning)
- You must have wingers of both foots in the squad.If don't,have fullbacks that can play in there(this is because of the counter configure).
- Quickness is important in the wings.Speacially for the counter configure.For the attacking configure,however,technique,dribbling,decisions,fl air,agility,finishing,off the ball are more important(switched foot).
- You can have a winger move into channels and a inside foward in both configures.It still work and the team stays balanced(as i did with Ghana).
- The striker must be able to fight for the space with the DCs(balance and strenght) and some times jump and head the ball,but his most crucial role is to move around and lead the line,passing around and finishing attacking moves.So he must be good all-around.Lewa,Cavani,that kind.
Match preparation and training are all tactics until fluid and then Balanced and Teamwork.

Note: i'll post the two configures i use the most,so it's faster to switch it in games.I use them around 85% of the times.
