For years the largest nation in the world has sat patiently waiting.
It was another forty five years until Russia would taste footballing success again, with the glorious victory of CSKA Moscow seeing the Europa League pulled away from the clutches of Western Europe, with Zenit St Petersburg repeating their success just two years later.
Despite this recent turn around, the biggest prizes in football continue to allude the ever patient Motherland but all that is soon to change...

In order to make this more of a challenge I have opted to impose a "slight" Soviet rule upon myself, meaning I can only sign players from the former nations of the USSR or Eastern Europe.
With the likes of Rubin Kazan, Zenit and the new found riches of Anji Makhlachkala to compete against domestically, a golden chance to reclaim the Europa League at the first time of asking and a looming World Cup in Brazil to prepare for, I have no time to waste.
The Glory of Mother Russia depends upon me!
