Advice needed

I bought this fairly promising young wingback. As i look at his stats I think he can become a good playmaker type. His passing and technique is obviously his strengths, but thats not so important as a back. So my question is; should I just drill him as a back or should i turn him into a midfielder? Any advice/opinions would is highly appreciated :)
