The Oldham Job
Avoiding the Relegation Zone

Oldham Athletic announce new Manager!

Following the departure of former Oldham Athletic Manager Paul Dickov, who resigned from his managerial role on the 3rd of February 2013 after he lead the club to poor league form, Oldham Athletic Chairman Simon Corney has announced to the media that they have found a new manager to take over the managerial reigns.

Unknown American Manager Christopher Everett, who turns 32 next-birthday, has signed a three-year deal to keep him at The Latics for the foreseeable future. With Oldham finishing just above the relegation zone last season, following Paul Dickov's shock resignation and leaving Tony Philliskirk in charge as Caretaker Manager, Everett hopes to somehow take Oldham up to the Championship and then, the Premiership.

Christopher Everett joins a veteran Oldham Staff, with the likes of Tony Philliskirk, Paul Gerrard and Mick Priest still staying at the club after Dickov's departure. How Everett will cope at Oldham, with the League One side being his first venture into management, as the club will be fighting a relegation battle that will probably have Everett's managerial role on the line as well, only time will tell.

Simon Corney said 'We would like to welcome Christopher to the club. Although he is a virtually unknown manager, I believe he shares the same ambition and determination as the Board, the Fans and the Players. Although we are in a tough situation and many fans believe that signing an unknown man to the job is risky, we at Oldham believe that he is the right man for the job."
