I am semi-back :) Trying to start playing FM again, not easy with a 3 months old kid, but I do have time now and then in small amounts.
I noticed a lot of you requested a tactic from me that works in 13.3.3, and I made one now :) No idea how it holds up for all teams, as I have no time at all for testing in different leagues etc.
I will just upload it here, and maybe you guys can test it for me :)
My personal recommendation goes to the classic edition of the tactic. ( It creates a lot more possession. Most games I have over 60% possession, and some games close to 75%, and yes, EPL games...)
The one I made this time is a 4-4-2 that is wildly attacking. It isn't solid in the back, but the attacking more than makes up for it. It is based on short passing and a very fluid playstyle, like all my tactics.
1. Always give your team high bonuses in the competitions you want to do good in...
2. Keep your players happy. In this year's FM, this has a MUCH bigger impact than in previous editions.
3. Players: See the different roles
4. Match prep: Defensive positioning (like in all my tactics, good for possession and pressure)
5. Training: Balanced
6. Team Talk: Been using assistant manager to do that
7. No opposition instructions
8. If you get a player sent off, take off the Trequartista/Right striker (If you run the normal version, change playmaker in team settings to the Advanced playmaker. The classic version doesn't utilize playmaker or target man)
9. Important: Train your wingers so they can manage both sides (ML and MR). They swap positions during the match.
When game starts, use match prep: tactics only, together with team cohesion training, 50/50 until your first league match. Then change to Balanced/Defensive Positioning. NB! Start the preseason 6 weeks before league start, so the tactic is 100% fluid before your first league game. The first season you will maybe need to setup some extra friendly matches in order to reach 100%.
Remember that when using plug and play tactics in FM, success is only 50% about the tactic. The other 50% goes into man management, training and player purchases!
Please post your results and feedback, so I can keep improving :) (Please only whole seasons, as RNG can be a huge factor in singular matches)
Here is a screenshot of my first season so far playing Liverpool (Started using the non-classic version, but swapped after around ten games as I find the classic edition better. Ongoing winning streak after the swap.)
